Education If you have been looking for somewhere to enhance your abilities in Worship Sound Reinforcement or just general Audio Engineering we can help. Phun City Sound support staff can answer your questions, train you in everything from the basics of microphone placement and console fundamentals to the Digital Recording process. Basic TheoryI RF Prerequisite: None This is a basic course in multi-track recording technology designed for the novice, but also beneficial to the engineer with work experience wishing to advance his technical background. The course will thoroughly cover principles that apply to professional recording studio systems; microphones (theory and placement), signal processing devices, calibration, and alignment. Commitment 10 weeks totaling 30 Hours Sound ReinforcementVI SR Prerequisite: Basic Theory / I RF or instructor approval; may be taken concurrently with I RF. In controlled reinforcement environments, sessions will be held with live groups for solving problems related to Sound Reinforcement. Students will do complete set up and operate the equipment, mix the live concert, and afterward to complete breakdown of equipment. The techniques learned will be for rock concert performance; open-air theaters, arenas, stadiums, disco, nightclubs, theaters and Houses of Worship. Commitment 8 weeks totaling 32 Hours Recording Studio WorkshopII RSW Prerequisite: Basic Theory / I RF or pass exam to meet California State Department of Education requirements. This class is held entirely in professional 24-track recording studios with the most technically advanced equipment available in the industry today. The students will operate all equipment and perform all the duties necessary in the recording process. The fundamentals learned in Basic Theory will be applied to "hands on" experience in this workshop. Commitment 8 weeks totaling 30 Hours
Advanced TheoryIII AT Prerequisite: Basic Theory / I RF & II RSW A course in audio technology dealing with acoustics and advanced recording techniques. Develops an understanding of all audio equipment and its operation. Principles relating to disc recording; the relationship between multi-track recording and correct mastering of the recorded product.Commitment 10 weeks totaling 30 Hours Recording Studio Workshop IVIV ARW Prerequisite: Advanced Theory This class consists entirely of "hands on" experience on 24-track recording consoles in Professional recording studios with the most technically advanced equipment used in the industry, the State of the Art. Students will apply all advanced recording techniques learned in the Advanced Theory class utilizing complex outboard equipment and devices, such as Digital delay Line, Phasers. Flangers, Harmonizer, pitch change unit, and Matrix Encoded Quad. Commitment 8 weeks totaling 30 Hours Disk MasteringV DM Prerequisite: Basic Theory (I RF) or pass exam to meet California State Department of Education requirements. The disc Mastering class covers the basic principles of disc recording and develops on to more advanced concepts for the professional working engineer. Includes theory and "hands on" training in the operation of the most advanced professional digital systems used in the audio field today. Commitment 10 weeks totaling 30 Hours |

Digital Recording A Yamaha AW4416 Professional Audio Workstation. Is used for our recording, editing, mixing and mastering to CD in either 16-bit or 24-bit formats. We have 44 input channels with 20 mix buses and full mix automation.
